Be Mindful! Your Health-Protective Instinct Burns You out

Initial evidence implicates job-related stressors in frontline employee burnout during COVID-19 pandemic. Complementarily, we present employees' evolved psychology of disease avoidance as risk factor. This effect is transmitted through employees' emotional labor strategies – surface and deep acting. We find further that this relational chain is sensitive to dispositional mindfulness.
