Immigration, Nationality, and the Question of Who Belongs

Friday, May 22, 2020 · Virtual

Oral · Social

We explore how nationality, as a primary mode of classifying humans, is represented in everyday thought. We present results of research on folk theories of nationality as a social category and lay views of the privileges conferred by nationality and discuss their implications for attitudes toward immigrants.
