People rely on affective forecasts to guide decisions and direct efforts to attaining positive outcomes and avoiding negative outcomes. This symposium explores multiple perspectives from social, cognitive, developmental, and clinical paradigms, on when and why people make inaccurate predictions, and the impact of inaccurate forecasts on decision making.
