The Many Forms and Consequences of Ostracism

Ostracism comes in many forms and leads to various consequences. Microaggression, often experienced by stigmatized individuals, was shown as another form of social exclusion. In addition, contextual factor influences how people respond to exclusion. The latest research further showed causal effects of ostracism on suicidal thoughts and conspiracy beliefs.
