Oral · Social

Self-regulation and self-control, defined as setting goals, initiating, maintaining, and ending goal pursuit are composed of highly complex processes including: devoting energy to effortful goal pursuit, resisting temptations in intertemporal choices, disengaging from attractive goal alternatives, and keeping on track during goal pursuit instead of switching to back-up plans.
