Substance Use without a Substance: The Risk Factors and Mechanisms of Gambling
This symposium focuses on features of the gambling environments that have been identified as risk-factors for escalated gambling. Design features such as win-paired audio-visual feedback, salient wins on slot machines, and gambling features in online games can promote escalated gambling and gaming. We discuss policy implications for preventing escalated gambling.
