Journeying across the Political Spectrum: New Insights on the Motives and Beliefs Underlying Ideological Differences

Sunday, May 24, 2020 · Virtual

Oral · Social

We examine the motives and beliefs underlying ideological differences in social perception, victim-blaming, response to threats to democracy, and support for government. Our investigations reveal not only novel sources of ideological conflicts but also a silver lining that liberals and conservatives may serve complementary roles in society.
