Childhood Maltreatment and Emotion Dysregulation: Pathways to Psychopathology
Childhood maltreatment has been associated with multiple forms of psychopathology, and recent work has focused on uncovering the underlying mechanisms. This symposium will offer several complementary perspectives suggesting that emotion dysregulation may explain a host of behavioral and biological alterations which characterize maltreated individuals and may underlie vulnerability to psychopathology.
