Do Smartphones Cause Teen Depression? Rigorous Methodologies Show Little Evidence of Harmful Linkages
Recent increases in adolescent depression rates have led to speculation about potential links between digital technology use and mental health problems. This symposium presents three methodologically rigorous studies that find little evidence for cross-sectional, daily, or longitudinal associations between technology usage and wellbeing among diverse samples of adolescents.
