Outrage: Collective Behavior in Response to Social Inequality

Saturday, March 9, 2019 · Paris, France

Experimental Psychology

Social inequality is pervasive and increasing in many countries. At the population level, researchers have observed that societies with higher levels of inequality are less healthy and more violent. Experimental psychologists are exploring the mechanisms that link feelings of unfairness and deprivation, with collective behaviors such as protests and riots.
