The symposium deals with the relations of psychological and physical variables concerning physical diseases. The discussed issues provide an approach to the interactions between psychological variables, e.g., psychodynamic, emotional and cognitive factors, and physiological factors, e.g., genetic and epigenetic. Empirical studies about rheumatoid arthritis, alzheimer and cancer are presented.
