Mutual Influences Between Culture and the Brain: Implications for Self, Social Class, and Health
Recent evidence shows mutual influences between socio-cultural context and the brain/body. First, cultural values are linked tightly to brain structure. Second, cultural influences on social behavior are moderated by specific dopaminergic system genes. Third, culture modulates how basic personality dimensions are related to biological health.
