Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Fatherhood: Integrating Neurological, Hormonal, and Observational Data to Understand Men's Transition to Parenthood

This symposium focuses on the brains, bodies, and behaviors of fathers. All four studies use longitudinal designs to follow fathers in early parenthood. The presenters employ diverse methodologies including neuroimaging to examine paternal brain structure and function; sampling of hormones like cortisol and testosterone; and observation of fathers’ play behavior.
