Metareasoning: A Framework to Guide Research in Reasoning, Problem Solving, and Decision Making
The fields of reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making have developed in parallel, with some, but not many, points of convergence. Ackerman and Thompson (2017) proposed a metareasoning framework that could provide the foundation for integrating research across them. Four talks showcase how metacognitive approaches advance research in each domain.
