Trigger Warnings! Helpful, Harmful, or Neither?

Trigger warnings (TWs) have incited controversy on college campuses throughout America as activists insist that professors issue such warnings about potentially upsetting classroom topics and readings (e.g., concerning violence, suicide, sexual abuse). Our symposium comprises some of the first empirical studies testing whether TWs are helpful, harmful, or neither.
