Clinical Priorities in Autism: Sleep, Sensorimotor Control, and Communication

Genetic studies of autism can encourage a categorical perception of autistic phenotypes that doesn't fully account for individual symptom profiles, yet also can point the way towards targeted treatments. We describe two classes of targeted treatments, one addressing sleep disorders and one taking a prerequisite-skills approach to developing social communication.
