Extreme Means: How Sex, Guns, Social Media, and Self-Sacrifice Are Used to Attain Social Goals
People need social connection and attachment to social groups. When people are exposed to violence, socially isolated, experience rejection, or feel guilty, they may be willing to adopt extreme means to reach their social goals. We investigate interesting and important behaviors, with implications for human sociality, sexuality, aggression, and well-being.
