Research demonstrating the existence of implicit Theory of Mind processes has been hugely influential, and has generated new paradigms and theories of cognition for both neurotypical and autistic individuals. More recently, questions have emerged regarding the robustness of previous paradigms leading to implications for methodology for future research.
