The Importance of Affective Dynamics in Emotional, Social, and Behavioral Regulation

In this integrative symposium, we demonstrate how understanding the temporal dynamics of affective processes can greatly enhance our understanding of how people regulate their emotions in the face of stress, whether people become depressed or not, how people make adaptive decisions, and how people predict others’ emotional experiences.
