Personality Judgments: Substance or Evaluation? Implications for Assessment and the Interpretation of General Factors of Personality and Psychopathology
To what extent do person judgments (laypeople’s as well as professionals’) reflect the actual characteristics of the target persons and/or the values and attitudes of the perceivers? We try to develop a shared conceptual understanding of this issue, and answer the question by reviewing recent empirical research.
