Promoting Healthy Eating: Debunking Common Assumptions and Highlighting Successful Behavioral Strategies
Healthy eating is a goal that many attempt, but few achieve. We examine two surprisingly effective strategies: a situational nudge, and brief mindfulness training; and two strategies that are assumed effective but actually backfire: motivating healthy eating by altering people’s self-perceived weight, or by stigmatizing people because of their weight.
