Beyond Inhibition: New Directions in Self-Control
In this symposium, we take a multi-method (behavioural, experimental, longitudinal), interdisciplinary (social, cognitive, neuroscience) approach to conceptualize and empirically examine self-control in new ways that go beyond inhibition as the main crucial ingredient. Specific topics include theoretical developments related to trait self-control, self-regulatory strategies, and the motivational determinants of self-control.
