Activated Affective Valence Alters the Way to Assimilate Helpful Cues in Insight Problem Solving

Abstract

The current study showed that a positive affective state facilitates insight problem solving when a hint was subliminally primed. This is consistent with previous studies that showed positive affect helps accept subliminal prime. The results suggest that the goodness of primed idea is implicitly judged based on activated affective valence.
