Abstract

Generally, in Africa, to be HIV infected is to bring disgrace to one’s family. Data were used to predict the dual role of fears/stigma in HIV/AIDS. There were significant differences on the factor scale measuring fear of sex, with females and younger respondents having significantly greater fear. Implications are discussed.
