Abstract

Mothers’ perceptions of coparenting were negatively associated with average oppositional conflict. Findings suggest that high quality coparenting is related to less oppositional parent-child conflict. Conflict within families is inevitable, but the extent to which families coparent effectively may buffer children from the negative effects of hostile conflict interactions.
