Abstract

In an emotional stop-signal task we examined how emotional expressions may affect inhibitory control. While disgust faces stimulated inhibitory control, angry faces impeded it. Only focus on emotional expressions, but not on gender, influenced inhibition. Inhibitory control can by modulated by behavioral tendencies induced by attentional focus on emotional stimuli.
