Assessing High School Students’ Cost Concerns about Pursuing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Major in College

Abstract
Results showed that low, compared to high, math-identified students had greater concerns about the effort and loss of valued alternatives costs associated with a STEM major. Additionally, among high math-identified students, we found that STEM ethnic minority, compared to majority, students had lower emotional cost concerns.
