Abstract

Identifying spoken emotions is based on integrating lexical content and prosody. This may be disrupted in High-Function Autism Spectrum Disorder (HF-ASD). However, we found no group-differences in emotion-identification, selective-attention or integration (13 students with HF-ASD, 17 typically-developed peers). Support programs may rely on such preserved skills to improve social interactions.
