Abstract

Subjective judgments of survival relevance were obtained for a set of concepts, rated by participants in their importance for either avoiding death or obtaining food. The two survival dimensions were reliably assessed by the participants, but each had a differential pattern of relationships with other psycholinguistic and conceptual dimensions.
