Abstract
Based on Eccles’ expectancy-value model (Eccles & Wigfield, 2002) the aim of this study was to test the effects of a utility-value intervention on situational interest and performance of pupils (N= 75). There was no difference between experimental and control condition, but the number of statements with utility-value predicted interest.
