Abstract

Human cooperation involves trust that can be based on partners’ emotional expressions. Facial expression is naturally encountered within the context of bodily expressions. We show higher trust in partners showing happy expressions than partners expressing fear or anger. Unexpectedly, incongruence between facial- and bodily expressions was of no consequence.
