Abstract

Different music genres have various impacts on human experiences, such as emotion and cognition. Our study suggests that this is also the case for music-specific emotions. Using the GEMS, we could confirm that different music genres tend to evoke different levels of aesthetical emotions, independent from individual genre preferences.
