Abstract

Evaluating an Internet-campaign video that used vicarious contact, this pre-registered experiment (N=274) showed that the video improved explicit and implicit attitudes towards gay men. Explicit attitudes were not only improved via inducing outgroup empathy (gay couple faced with discrimination) but also via ingroup perspective-taking (approached by-passers witnessing the discrimination).
