Influence of Tempo on the Emotions Evoked across Different Music Genres

Abstract
Using the Geneva Emotional Music Scales (GEMS) we wished to clarify the role of tempo on the emotions evoked by three different genres common in Western populations (Classical, Pop, and Hip-Hop/Rap). Tempo had an effect on emotions over all genres, but differentiates across the plurality of aesthetic emotions.
