Abstract

Our study examined the role of perceived visual anonymity in self-disclosure during a clinical interview with a virtual human. Results suggests that participants who perceived to be visually anonymous reported more depth of self-disclosure. We also demonstrate that self-disclosure is greater towards humans than computers in this clinical context.
