Abstract

Prenatal positive maternal mood, independent of negative symptoms, associates with variation in neonatal brain regions involved in emotional memory and reward processing between offspring of positive mothers and those who were not. Left amygdala acted as a mediator between positive maternal health and child temperament at one year of age.
