Abstract

Prenatal health influences fetal development, but the extent to which maternal obesity impacts the human fetal brain during pregnancy has yet to be examined. Here, we applied non-invasive fMRI in utero and discovered altered fetal prefrontal brain network connectivity. Increased BMI was associated with increased within- and decreased cross-hemisphere connectivity.
