Abstract

A series of experiments investigated the potential role of supramodal cognitive processes in the perception of transformed auditory and visual patterns. A structural priming paradigm was adopted, and analysis of the data revealed a facilitation effect of structural relatedness in both unimodal and crossmodal conditions. Implications are discussed.
