Abstract

Adolescence is a unique developmental period, defined by changes in cognitive processing and heightened emotional reactivity to stimuli within social contexts. This study examines adolescents’ emotion expression during a risk-taking task. Results indicate adolescents, particularly boys, express more—and more negative valanced—emotion in peer contexts than when alone.
