Abstract

Results from 765 participants demonstrated that obsessive-compulsive tendencies are associated with higher value assignment to task-irrelevant motor movements. This relationship was mediated with poorer deployment of model-based strategies. We suggest that deficit to act according to a model of the environment can serve as a mechanism for repetitive motor behavior.
