Abstract

By running simulations comparing how various methods to assess mediation perform, we show that the joint-significant test (Judd & Kenny, 1981) performs better in terms of false positive rate control than index methods (e.g., bootstrapping, Hayes, 2013). To facilitate adoption of this test we provide the JSmediation R package.
