Abstract

Visual illusions are used to compare visual perception among vertebrates. Sensitivity to visual illusions has been never studied in reptiles. Here we investigated whether red-footed tortoises and bearded dragons perceive the Delboeuf illusion like humans. Our data provide the first evidence of the perception of a visual illusion in reptiles.
