Abstract

Behavioural inhibition and attention bias are risk factors for anxiety. We found that BI and attention to threat in preschoolers interacted to predict anxiety when children started school (p = .007). For inhibited children, increased attention to threat predicted child anxiety. For uninhibited children, decreased dwell time predicted child anxiety.
