Abstract

Abstract (e.g., why multiculturalism is important) vs. concrete construals of cultural diversity (e.g. how can multiculturalism be achieved) led to increased intention to help, and decreased intention to exclude, refugees. Stereotype content (e.g., warmth) and emotions (e.g., admiration) partially mediated the effects of construals on behavioral intentions.
