Abstract

This study investigates the development of moral attitudes toward out-groups. When solving moral dilemmas, an increase in HRV indicators of stress was observed in children (4-11-year-old, N=109) who displayed out-group supporting behaviour. These results reflect a mismatch between out-group supporting behaviour and earlier formed experience of unconditional in-group support.
