The Impact of Depression on Autobiographical Memory Fluency

Abstract

This research explores the novel question of how depression impairs fluency for specific and categoric autobiographical memories. Results show fluency for both memory types is impaired as a function of depression. However, only specific memories are more negative and show reduced flexibility in terms of describing different types of events.
