Abstract

Eyewitness lineups are administered live or nonlive (e.g., photo lineup). Although live and nonlive lineups produce similar outcomes in experiments, 82% (N = 406) of potential eyewitnesses preferred live over nonlive lineups. A preference for live lineups was also found in 51% of eyewitness identification policies (N = 51).
