Abstract

In this pre-registered study, we examined a possible predictor of smartphone addiction: hypnotic suggestibility. After hypnotising 359 undergraduate participants, we measured their suggestibility and smartphone use with standardised scales. Phone use positively correlated with hypnotic suggestibility in both men (r=.27) and women (r=.15).
