Abstract

Using fNIRS we investigate neural underpinnings of infants’ understanding of social interactions. Results revealed activation in right (p)STS when attributing goals to joint actions. A control experiment confirmed the results. We provide evidence that infants, prior to actively engaging in collaborative activities, understand and attribute shared goals to joint actions.
