The Sense of Agency Can be Modulated By the Presence of Extraneous Visual Objects

Abstract

In this study, we demonstrate that the sense of agency can be affected by extraneous and irrelevant objects that are (incidentally) present in one’s immediate environment. This suggests that the sense of agency is contextualised with respect to what is in one’s physical surroundings.
